Migratory routes
19 November 2023 @ 15:30 - 17:30
With days getting shorter and temperatures dropping, we are at the tail end of autumn. Many of the migratory species, such as the Black-winged Stilt, are already in Africa to spend the winter. Others, however, are on their way. Especially the waterfowl of northern Eurasia, such as the Teal -the smallest of our native ducks weighing just 350 grams- which sometimes comes to us from beyond the Urals, from Siberia proper!
On Sunday, Nov. 19, 3:30 p.m., starting from the Cavanata Valley Nature Reserve Visitor Center, there will be a guided tour together with naturalist Paul Tout, who will tell us about the migratory routes and the main species to observe at this time and why Flamingos (usually) do not leave us in winter.
