On the occasion of Wetlands Day, we have decided to let you experience becoming ornithologists for a day.
We want you to understand the importance of wetlands by giving you a first-hand experience to learn how to recognise the species present, how to monitor them, what methods are used to study them and what information can be obtained. During the visit, we will introduce you to the IWC (International Waterbird Census) project, a census that is taking place right now and aims to survey the number of all individuals present of more than 130 species of wintering waterbirds in all European and Mediterranean countries.
